Obituary

William R. "Bill" Walker, 54, of West Palm Beach, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, after a long illness. Bill was preceded in death by his brother, David; and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Kay Walker of West Palm Beach, Fla.; sons, Bryan Walker of Lexington, Ky., and Matt Walker of Cumberland, Md.; stepdaughter, Kristie Kessler; and two granddaughters, Jordan Kessler and Sara Kessler of Elkview. He is also survived by parents, Sterling and Mary Lou Walker; his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Debbie Walker; adopted brother, Benny Holley; and nieces and nephews, Keri Baldwin, David Walker, Stephanie Walker, and Michael Walker, all of Sissonville. Bill was a 1971 graduate of Sissonville High School and attended Morris Harvey College on a basketball scholarship. He was the owner of William Walker's Video Amusements in West Palm Beach, Fla. Bill loved the outdoors, fishing, boating, and camping, and also loved sports, especially basketball. He loved and cherished time spent with his family and friends. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Al Mendez officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
