William V. "Sonny" Anderson, 83, of Sissonville died August 25, 2012 at Hubbard Hospice House after a short illness. He was born May 19, 1929 to the late Rev. Warren & Irene Thaxton Anderson.
He was a PFC ER in the United States Army from 1951 to 1957. He was a life member of VFW Post 3066 of Sissonville and a brick & block mason for many years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Rev. Sebert Anderson, grandsons Dustin Field and Camron Ward.
Surviving are sons, William R. Anderson and wife Monica, Hayward Skoglund and wife Barbara, Warren E. Anderson and wife Crissy; daughters Teresa J. Taylor and husband Mike, Felicia Fields; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and brother Daniel Anderson and wife Sue.
Service will be 1 PM Tuesday August 28, 2012 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with the Rev. Greg Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories with Military Honors provided by the US Army Honor Guard.
