William Holbrook Jr., also known as "Uncle Bill," 86, of Sissonville, passed from this world on October 7, 2012. He was born November 16, 1925, and was the son of the late William E. Holbrook Sr. and Ethel Holbrook. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Elinor R. Holbrook; son, David; sister, Margie; and brother, Gaylord. He was a retired Merchant Marine and World War II Army veteran who served his country proudly.
He is survived by his sisters, Ida Faye, Brenda and Jean; brothers, Elwood, Vancy, Jimmy, Jerry and Robert; his loving children, Linda, Sarah, Michael, Kathleen and Ruth; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Please join us at his church, Union Valley Gospel Tabernacle of Tuppers Creek, Sissonville, for a memorial service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10. with Pastor Robert Legg officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland, Maine.
