Wilber E. Haynes, 93 of Charleston, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Thomas Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born on the 27th day of January in 1920 in Charleston to the late Arthur Haynes and Bessie Wilkerson.

Mr. Haynes retired as a truck driver for Smith Transfer Commercial Trucking. He also served our country in the United States Army during World War II.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Anna Haynes.

Those surviving include his sons, Gerald Jerry'' Haynes and wife Brenda of Sissonville, and George Frankie'' Haynes and wife Peggy of Interprise, Alabama; grandchildren, Gerald Bubby'' Haynes, Debbie Holstein, Kim Clay, and Steve Haynes; eight great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren; and is also survived by the many friends he has made at Tudors Biscuit World and Go Mart in Sissonville.

Services to celebrate the life of Wilber Haynes will be conducted at 2pm Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Long and Fisher Funeral Home Chapel in Sissonville with Pastor Al Mendez officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories in Sissonville.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be from 12-2pm Friday at the funeral home.
