Virginia Mildred Lowe, 84, of Sissonville went home to be with the Lord November 12, 2008, in Moss Golden Years, Cross Lanes. She was a homemaker, a member of Cicerone Community Church and was a beloved mother. Virginia graduated from Ripley High School in 1941 at the age of 16.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Lowe; mother, Jessie Counts; brothers, Bernard, Earl, Paul and Carol Counts and Sanford Duff; and sister, Alma Berry.
She is survived by sons, Paul Lowe and his wife, Kathy, of Sissonville and Ricky Lowe and his wife, Sandi, of Elizabethtown, Ky.; grandchildren, Paula Atkinson, Mark Lowe, Tim Carter, David, Kevin, and Laura Lowe; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews
Special thanks go to Virginia's niece, Helen Davis, for her care and support over the years. Also, special go thanks to Moss Golden Years and the hospice nurses.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, November 15, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev. Keith Monday and Jonathan Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Mariah Cemetery, Roane County. Special singing will be provided by Johnny Gravely.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
