Violet Sue White, (nee Hanshaw) 72 years old, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter in Wellington, Ohio on Friday, May 20, 2016.
Mrs. White was born in Charleston, W.Va. on November 29, 1943 and made her home in Elyria for most of her life. She loved boating, fishing, gardening, cooking, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, James White of 58 years; two daughters, Katherine White of Elyria and Tammy (Brian) Gamble of Wellington; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Harry (Loretta) and Wayne (Terry) Hanshaw; and three sisters, Gertrude George, Barbara (James) Patton, and Shirley (Alan) Escue all of West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Hettie Hanshaw; and four brothers, Clyde, Bob, Fred, and Eddie Hanshaw.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation one hour to service. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Sissonville, West Virginia. A memorial gathering will follow the burial.
