Violet V. Tate, 87, of Tupper''s Creek went home to be with the Lord January 4, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital after a short illness.
Violet was retired from Charleston Linen, was a member of the Teamster''s Union, and a lifelong member of Walker''s Chapel, Tupper''s Creek. Violet was a regular singer and musician at various community churches. Violet was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great Great Grandmother. The legacy she has left for her family was her compassion for life, and love of family. This great Woman would want us not to dwell on her passing, but to rejoice in her legacy she has left.
Preceded in death by: Loving Husband of 68 years, Hoy Tate; Parents, Adam E. and Recie Holmes; twelve brothers and sisters.
Survived by: Daughters, Wyonia Jordan and Roxanne Carpenter both of Sissonville, and Lucille Burdette of Lowell, NC; Sons and their wives, Monte and Linda Tate, and Roland and Priscilla Tate both of Sissonville; Ten Grandchildren, Sixteen Great Grandchildren, and One Great Great Grandchild.
The Funeral Service will be 2pm Sunday, January 7 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Bob Fields officiating. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville. Friends may call 6-8pm Saturday at the Funeral Home.
