Violet Clair Estep Asbury, 99, entered eternal rest April 5, 2012 at Valley center in Spring Hill, WV. Born a true coal miners daughter in Boone County to the Late Allister Wenifred and Martha Ellen Estep.
She was a very hard worker at what ever she set out to do. She cared for children and kept house for many a family in the Edgewood area in the 60''s. She was a cook at many restaurants, making pies for Carbide workers for lunch and a maid at the "Goods" Motel.
She took great pride in her little house she worked so hard to pay for. She gave all she had to her family. Always there to do what ever she could to help, doing without herself sometimes to do so. She was there when needed. She was a long time member of Sugar Creek Community Mission Church of Falcon Dr.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband Arland Meredith Asbury; sisters, Maude, Merdie, Vallie & Vonnie; brothers, Everrit and Arlie; grandson Gene Arland Hatcher.
She is survived by daughter Betty Jean Asbury Hatcher; grandson Julius O Hatcher II; granddaughter, Theresa Bowen & husband Jimmy; Four great grandsons and 9 great great grand children.
Services will be held Tuesday April 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with the Rev. David Horn Officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral Home. Burial will follow in Asbury Cemetery, Liberty, WV.
