Urita K Lanham, age 82 passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach SC, Following a sudden illness.  She was born and raised in Kentuck, WV and was the daughter of the late Dennis H and Mary Catherine Counts.  She was a graduate Cum Laude of WV State College, Institute, WV.  She was the Director of Taxpayer Services for the State of West Virginia upon her retirement in 2001 with 25 years of service.

She was very active, was an avid reader and loved to travel.  She was dearly loved and absolutely devoted to her family.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy E. Lanham; brother, Harold R Counts; And a half- sister, Freeda Long.  She is survived by her son, Lonny B Lanham; Granddaughter, Carol A Demersman; great grandson, Michael S Haynes, all of Surfside Beach, SC, And sister Patricia Reynolds of Sissonville, WV.  She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.  She will be sadly missed.

Service will be Friday, August 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, WV.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Prior to the service.
