Obituary

Sybil Jane Cobb Whetherholt, 90, of Pocatalico passed away January 14, 2007 at her home where she had resided since 1950.
She was born August 17, 1916 at Belgrove, Jackson County to the late Harley Bennett Cobb and Clora Casto Cobb. She was a 1936 graduate of Sissonville High School, a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, O.E.S., and a charter member of the Sissonville Women''s Club. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Preceded in death by: Loving Husband of 60 years, Selba Sattis Whetherholt; Sisters, Opal Taylor, Mabel Young, and Myrtle Gibson; Brothers, Carl, and Clair Cobb.
Survived by: Daughters and their husbands, Selba Jane "Janie" and H.C. "Lummie" Miller of Sissonville, and Sara Lea "Sally" and Eddie L. Tate of Greensboro, Georgia; Grandchildren and their spouses, Joseph M. and Lisa Miller of St. Albans, and Thomas C. and Rhondell Miller of Morgantown, Kelli Tate and Gregory LeClair of Social Circle of Georgia, Kristi Tate and David Arienzo of Madison, Georgia; Great Grandchildren, Sara Rae, Tate and Savannah LeClair, Bennett Miller, Lily, Grace, Callie and Michael Arienzo, and Samuel and Andrew Miller.
The Funeral Service will be 1pm Wednesday, January 17, at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Rev. Terry Deane officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Friends may call 6-9pm Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
