Sue Marie McClanahan, 79, of Liberty passed way at her home on Monday, October 5, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Born September 2, 1936 in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Beulah Landers. Sue had a "green thumb" and loved planting flowers on her farm. Her favorite flower was daisies. Sue enjoyed traveling with her family and loved to visit the beach, where she would collect sea shells. She was a quilter and when her daughters were little she would make Barbie clothes for them. Sue loved children and operated a daycare out of her home. One of her favorite activities was to take her grandchildren on adventures.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Harold McClanahan, and son, Bobby Joey McClanahan.

She will be missed by her two daughters, Sherry Skidmore ( her husband, William "Pat") and Pamela Skidmore (her husband, James); five siblings, Neda Cain, Rose Presley, Phyllis Britton, Patty Thaxton, and Jerry Landers; eight grandchildren, Ben (his wife, Nashena), Will, Michael, Brook, Jessica, Sasha, Natasha, and Krista; 13 great grandchildren; and daughter in law, Dee McClanahan.

Funeral services will be at noon on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service.

Interment will immediately follow at McClanahan Golf Cemetery.
