Lawson D. "Sonny" Painter, 71, of Sissonville passed away August 1, 2010 at home.
Sonny was retired from Taylor and Striegel Construction with 32 years service. He was a great man who was full of life and was loved by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Mary Ellen Painter; son, Craig Painter; and a sister, Connie Dundon.
Left to cherish his memory are wife, Barbara Ann Painter at home; daughters, Missy Hershman and her husband, Jerry, and Kesha Evans and her husband, Carl, all of Sissonville; sisters, Brenda Fields and Rita Clark both of Sissonville, Arnetta Norman of Kentucky, and Rose Blaylock of St. Albans; brothers, Bob, Clinton, Steve, and Jimmy Painter all of Sissonville; grandchildren, Austin Hershman and Karley Evans; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 4 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Hammons officiating. Burial will follow in the Painter Cemetery, Poca River Road Sissonville.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6-9pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
