Reverend Shirrell Zane Bond, 75, of Gandeeville, formerly of Charleston went to be with the Lord November 29, 2009 in CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Shirrell was a retired Pastor. He also retired from Chemical Leaman Tank Lines Inc. having worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed farming, woodworking, and singing at Church for Revivals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Arminta Bond, and a stepson, Daniel Cavender.
Left to cherish his memory are loving wife of 46 years, Georgia Griggs Bond at home; sons, Shirrell Zane Bond Jr. and Kenneth Bond both of Texas, and Billy Bond of Kentucky; stepdaughters, Jo Anne Cavender Paxton of St. Albans, and Rose Cavender Godbey of Teays Valley; sister, Connie Collins of Culloden; brothers, Charles and Tom Bond both of Kentucky; grandchildren, Christina Slater, Stephanie Bond, Tonya Kyle, Gregory Brown, Cole Godbey, and Stephanie Bond; six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be 11am Wednesday, December 2 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6-8pm Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
