Shirley Mona Whittington, 76, of Charleston, passed away on February 5, 2023 at Thomas Memorial Hospital. Born on July 8, 1946 in Russellville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Hazel Brown Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, David T. Martin; sisters, Gaye Shamblin, Gretta Melich and Charlotte Campbell, and son, Dustin Craig Whittington. Shirley was retired from NGK Spark Plugs and briefly worked at Sams after her retirement. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Wayne Whittington; her sons, Travis, Morgan and Heath (Corrie) Whittington; grandchildren, Jaden Walker, Ryan Whittington, Layla Whittington, and Abigail Whittington; sister, Brenda Carter and her brother-in-law, Donald Shamblin. A Graveside service will be held for Shirley at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 13, 2023 at Floral Hills Garden of Memories in Sissonville with Pastor Richard Young, officiating.
