Shirley Ann Thaxton, 71, of Charleston, passed away on Friday, September 25th, at her home. She was born on September 27, 1954, to the late Orville and Ida Haynes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Noah Avil Thaxton Jr.; and her nephews, Avery Haynes and George Lee Thaxton.

Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Neal (Vickie) Haynes; sister, Denise Haynes (Tony Knuckles); brother-in-law, Keith Thaxton (Cheryl); sister-in-law, Joan Gortney; nephews, Michael Thaxton and Justin Thaxton (Valerie); nieces, Stephanie Goodwin and Ke`ra Burdette (Shane); as well as her beloved great-nieces, great-nephews, and many cousins.

Graveside services will be held on October 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Thaxton Family Cemetery in Charleston WV with Pastor David Samms officiating.
