Sharon Ann Pinkerton, 68, of Charleston passed away peacefully on February 24, 2016 at Women and Children''s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born February 12, 1948 in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lillie Thaxton. Sharon enjoyed traveling with her family, tending her flower garden, being at her pool, going to dinner and dancing with her friends. She loved spending time with her family and especially watching her grandchildren play sports. Sharon was a professional wife, mother, and maw maw. She touched the lives of everyone she came in contract with and never knew a stranger.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Franklin Thaxton, Francis Whittington, Atlee Thaxton, Roy "Boogie" Thaxton, and Ronsford "Teedy" Thaxton.

Sharon will be missed by her loving husband, Michael Shayne Pinkerton; children, Elizabeth Pinkerton-Johnson, Michael Shayne Pinkerton, II, and his wife Shawna, and Eric Hasten Pinkerton and his wife Jessica; sisters, Wanda Holmes, and Neda Fizer and her husband Paul; grandchildren, Austin, Reagan, Karli, Michael, Hasten, and Easton; Father and Mother in law, Walter and Lillian Pinkerton; sister in law, Claudia Starr Miller; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the third floor doctors and nursing staff at Women and Children''s Hospital for their excellent care of Mrs. Sharon Pinkerton.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Rob Whittington will be officiating.
