Ruthie M. Whiting, 89, of Charleston departed this life on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at her home following a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Ruthie was born August 17, 1917, in Sissonville. She was a devoted wife, mother, and Christian. She was a member of Allens Fork Community Church in Sissonville.
Preceded in death by: loving husband, William F. "Bill" Whiting Sr.; son, Johnnie Whiting; and brother, Charles Thomas.
Survived by: sons and their wives, William F. "Bill" Whiting Jr. of Charleston, Jack and Jeannie Whiting of Westerville, Ohio, Gary and Merry Whiting of Titusville, Florida, Stephen and Lisa Whiting of Columbus, Ohio, and Donald and Kathy Whiting of Sissonville; daughters and their husbands, Betty and James McNeely of Charleston, Bonnie Harrison and Harold Bell of Hamlin, Patsy and Bob Ball of Sissonville, and Sherry and Richard Smith of Land-O-Lakes, Florida; 26 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be 1:00p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Allens Fork Community Church, Sissonville with the Rev. Joey Scarberry officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville. Friends may call 6-9p.m. Saturday at the Church.
