Ruth Marie Burdette, 92, of Sissonville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 10, 1934, Ruth was the daughter of the late Melissa and Arthur Collins. She was a devoted Christian throughout her life and a faithful member of Legg Fork Community Church where her unwavering faith was evident to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Oather Burdette; her sons, Richard Burdette and Dale Burdette; her daughter, Deborah Jarrell; her sisters, Betty, Ruby, Sylvia, Sharon, and Hazel; her brothers, Bradon, Junior, Clifford, Roy, and Gerald; her granddaughter, Ashley; and her grandsons, Joshua, Paul, and Freddie.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Billy (Barbara) Burdette and Eddie (Crystal) Burdette; her daughters, Karen (Chuck) Jarrell, Brenda (Charley) Reed, Ann Swiney, and Connie Burdette; Sisters Reba, Ann, brothers James, General, Leonard, Roger, Rondell, and Mike; 24 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will deeply miss her.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home in Sissonville, WV, with Pastor Carl Casto and Pastor Dwayne Collins officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Reed Family Cemetery in Sissonville.
