Roy Hensol Harper Sr., 82, of Sissonville died at home on February 24, 2011.
He was a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the city of Dunbar.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Betty Holcomb Harper and Linda Bandy Harper; mother, Esta Mae Harper; and brothers, Ralph and Richard Harper.
Survived by son, Roy H. Harper Jr.; daughter, April Weaver and her husband, Terry; four grandchildren, Carrie and Cody Baley, and Tamara and Nevaeh Weaver; sister, Dolores Lane; brothers, Ray and Ronald Harper; and numerous nieces and nephews all of Charleston.
The Funeral Service will be 2pm Monday, February 28 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 61, Clendenin. Private burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
A gathering of family and friends will be 7-9pm Sunday at the funeral home.
