Ronnie L. Thaxton, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at his home.

Born in Charleston he was the son of the late O.D. Thaxton and Gracie Thaxton. Ronnie was a 1965 graduate of Sissonville High School and attended Pocatalico Non-Denominational Church. He served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a retiree after 34years at Union Carbide.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by his brothers, James, Frank, Donald, and Darrell Thaxton; and sister, Marie Carpenter.

Ronnie will be missed by his son, Michael Shane Thaxton (Cheri); daughter, Robin Renee Menninger (Larry); brother, Hansel Thaxton; sister, Janet Edens; grandsons, Christopher Shane Thaxton and Cayson Menninger; granddaughter, Ashlee Miracle; great granddaughter, Zoey Thaxton, great grandson, Draven Miracle; caregiver, Loretta Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 6 to 8pm at Long & Fisher Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 11am on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home. Entombment will immediately follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories.
