Rona Irene Carte, 89, of Sissonville went to be with the Lord July 27, 2009 in CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Rona was a loving mother who enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Frye Carte, Sr.
Left to cherish her memory are children, Jimmy, Henry (Beverly), and Roger Carte all of Sissonville, Ralph (Carolyn) Carte of Paradise, Louisiana, and Barbara (R.L.) Martin of Kenna; brothers, Denver and Otho Milam both of Kenna; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be 11am Thursday, July 30 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Kevin Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Thomas-Milam Cemetery, Fisher''s Ridge Road, Kenna.
A gathering of family and friends will be 5-9pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
