Robert G. Higginbotham, 87, passed away on February 3, 2013 at home after a long illness. He was born July 23, 1925 to the late Dean and Lena Asbury Higginbotham.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Maxine Higginbotham.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in WWII.

Those left to cherish his memory are children, Carolyn Sue Jones and husband Al of Nitro, Bobby E. HIggonbotham of Charleston, Roger D. Higginbotham and Wife Bonnie of Charleston, Peggy L. Derrick and husband Harry of Sissonville, Rita M. Walker and son Devin of Charleston; sister, Rebecca A. Alexander of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren; four step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; seven great step grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Thanks to all for your love and support. Special thanks to his grandchild Shelly Derrick Clark for her love and devotion to us all.

Service will be 1 PM Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with Pastor Bill Donahoe officiating. Burial will follow in Page Cemetery, Kelly''s Creek.
