Robert Eugene "Gene" Smith, Jr. 58, of Charleston passed away Saturday Aplril 9, 2011 at Hubbard Hospice House after a short illness.
He is employed by the State Of West Virginia State Road, St. Albans Garage as a laborer.
He was formerly employed for 26 years as a heavy equipment operator for the City of Charleston.
He is survived by his daughter: Tracey Campbell (John) of Glasgow, WV Sons: Robert Eugene "Gene" Smith III (Amy) of Sissonville, WV Justin Lee Smith (Jennifer) of Sissonville Grandsons: Hunter, Ryder, Walker and TY Grand daughters: Macey and Isabella
Former wife and mother of his children: Lena Smith of Charleston
Sisters: Sharon R. Smith of Charleston Sandra S. Walker (Gary) of Ripley
Brother: John Earl Smith of Charleston He is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Funeral service will be 12:00 Tuesday April 12, 2011 at the Long and Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Vannoy officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sissonville Memorial Gardens, Grapevine Road.
