Robert A. Carpenter, Sr., 82, passed away at his home, following a long illness, on June 1, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born September 11, 1930 to the late John Wilbur and Ernie Irene Baldwin Carpenter.

In addition to his parents Robert was preceded in death by sister, Eula Thaxton; brothers, Thomas Carpenter, Darrell Carpenter, Dallas Carpenter and Danny Carpenter.

Robert was a veteran of the US Army having served during Korea.

Thos left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Nola Carpenter; son, Robert Carpenter, Jr.; daughters, Rita Gnazzo, Carolyn Moore and her husband Charles; sisters, Naomi Davis, Kathryn Lowe; brothers, Basil Carpenter, Thadius Carpenter; grandson, Jamie Moss, Robert Carpenter III, Jeremy Carpenter; granddaughter Shelly Bryan and 6 great grandchildren.

Service will be 11 AM, Tuesday, June 4 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Robert Legg officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
