Richard Edward Tyree, 70, of Charleston passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Charleston to the late William and Ersel Tyree. Richard served our country in the United State Army during Vietnam. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed going on trips with his friends. Richard loved the Lord and was a member of the North Side Nazarene Church.
Richard will be missed by his loving wife, Rita J. Tyree; children, Richard Tyree (Melissa), and Melanie Tyree-Coughlin (David); grandchildren, Makayla Tyree-Myers (Michael), Nichole Wilson, Brooks Donley, Gavin and Colin Coughlin; great grandchildren, Noah and Nathaniel Myers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Jewel Harper and Joanne Myers; and brother, William Earl Tyree.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with Pastor John Hayes officiating. Visitation will begin at noon.
Entombment will immediately follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories with Military Rites by the United States Army, and American Legion Post #73 and VFW #6418.
