Reba Mae Jones, 73, of Sissonville went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008.
She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a fantastic cook and loved to cook and bake for her family and all of her friends. She was a special person to all who knew and loved her.
Reba was born on Nov. 23, 1934, in Jackson County and was the daughter of the late Wesley O. and Mary Ingram. She was preceded in death by her son, Pete, her brothers, William, Rayo, Richard, Reno and Donald and her sisters, Dessil, Ova, and Media.
She was a 1956 graduate of Sissonville High School where she was a cheerleader. She was a Christian and a member of Humphreys United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Markle Jones; daughter and fianc, Karen Lea Carney and Bill Jones; son and daughter-in-law, Markie and Heather Jones; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, David and Crystal Carney; grandsons, Pete Jones, Lukas Beane and Jacob Jones; granddaughter, Mary Allison Jones; great-granddaughter, Sierra Carney and great-grandson, Devin Carney, all of Sissonville; special nieces, Donna Leaptrot, Kathryn Fineran and Vala Kepnes.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Feb. 5, at the Humphreys United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry Deane officiating.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Humphreys United Methodist Church, Sissonville.
