Ransford "Sonny" Earl Matthews, 77, of Sissonville passed away peacefully after a long illness on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at CAMC Memorial surrounded by his loving family.

Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Brown Matthews and Elizabeth Jones Matthews; a son, Gregory Allan Matthews; and a brother, Jerry Matthews.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Hazel Doris Matthews; two children, Ransford D. Matthews and his wife Tammy, and Kelly Lynn Matthews; two brothers, Roger and William Matthews; two sisters, Carrie Dean and her husband Ronnie, and Glenna Parsons and her husband Sattis; his two dogs, Max and Princess; and a very special sister n law, Bertha Matthews.

Graveside services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, August 26, 2105 at Floral Hills Garden of Memories with Pastor Jerry Bonnett officiating.
