Obituary

Ralph N. Blakeman, 89, of Charleston passed away July 2, 2010 in CAMC Memorial after a long life.
Ralph retired from Vecellio and Grogan, Inc. He had also worked for Foster and Creighton Company. Ralph was an area manager for bridge construction where he served a critical part in the construction of the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville. He also enjoyed gardening and especially working.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Blakeman; son, Mark Blakeman who died as an infant; brothers, Rural, Herman, Gordon and Edgar Blakeman.
Left to cherish his memory are son, Craig L. Blakeman and his wife, Deb, of Charleston; and a grandson, Adam Blakeman of Morgantown.
The Funeral Service will be 11am Tuesday, July 6 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville with Military Graveside rites provided the American Legion Post 61, Clendenin.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6-8pm Monday at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Charleston Gardens, in memory of Ralph N. Blakeman, 800 Association Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.
