Obituary

Paul D. Breeden, Sr. went home to be with his savior on Thursday, August 16, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

Born in Charleston, Paul was the son of the late Cordia Hill and John N. Breeden. He served his country for four years in the U. S. Army National Guard and three years in the U. S. Army. Paul was a retiree from the Kanawha County Board of Education, where he worked at Horace Mann Middle School; he loved the students and staff dearly. Previously, he worked 15 years at True Temper. Paul was an avid bowler, hunter, fisherman, and WVU fan.

Left to cherish his memory, is his loving wife of 54 years, Ruth M. Breeden; his sons Paul D. Breeden, Jr. (wife Ester) of Jacksonville, FL, and Michael A. Breeden (wife Amy) of Bixby, OK; his daughter Diane Burgess (husband Brian) of St. Albans, WV; his grandsons Alexander Breeden, Norman Breeden, Jomar Breeden, and Michael Burgess; his granddaughters Alyssa Manning, Joy Breeden, and Kali Burgess; 3 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his sisters Eva Parsons and Mary Durnell and brother, Johnny Breeden.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday, August 20, 2018 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Berkhouse officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories.
