Patsy Ruth Serls, 88, of Sissonville, passed away on July 31, 2023 at CAMC Memorial Hospice in Charleston.

Born May 3, 1935 in Charleston, she was the daughter of the late Sterling and Ernie Westfall McBride. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Serls; life partner, John Cupp; son, Ralph Serls Jr., and daughters, Janet Whittington, Louise Pauley, and Pansy Jordan.

Patsy loved listening to gospel and oldies music, watching westerns, and collecting Beanie Babies. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Slater and Rita (Freddie) Edens; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the hospice division at CAMC Memorial Hospital for their loving care for Patsy.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home in Sissonville, with Pastor Robert Perdue, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories in Sissonville.
