Patricia Ann Brennan (nee Cline)

My darling wife Patty passed away June 18, 2026. We met when she was eight and I was ten. We began our courtship on her 14th birthday. We married when she was 16 and I was 18. We have been together for over 74 years now, nearly 66 years married. How much we have loved each other! Patty was a marvel, wonderful. She served and she served and she gave and gave of herself. She was kind and generous and the sweetest, best wife and mother on the planet. She treasured our three children. She was dedicated to them, and she bestowed upon them absolute, unconditional, total love, as she did me.

Patricia Ann Cline Brennan was born July 7, 1944, in Logan County, West Virginia. Her birth mother was Lucile Cline Browning. Patty was abandoned by her birth parents and placed in an orphanage. She was adopted and raised by her maternal grandparents DC Cline and Carrie Suiter Cline of Switzer, West Virginia. I enlisted in the Air Force in 1960 and took Patty and our new beautiful baby boy away to begin our independent and forever life. We would travel the world for the next 32 years. Patty created homey abodes for us in 12 states and two foreign countries. We traveled and toured 14 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. I retired from the military as a Lt Col in 1992, after which we settled in Charleston, West Virginia, in the village of Pocataliсo in the greater Sissonville area. I began a second career there in business that would extend through another 32 years, with Patty by my side, supporting me all the way. Patty, as always, did most of the work to make our little country paradise in Pocatalico special. Patty and I always characterized our life as wonderful! In Patty’s presence, happiness, love, fun abided—and in our memories, they always will.

Patty is survived by me, husband Gerald; son Timothy D Brennan, age 66; daughter Jane Brennan-Gilmore, age 63 (Tony); daughter Sarah Brennan Lorraine, age 54 (Chris); four grandchildren: Nichole Brennan (Matt Lowe); Samantha Brennan; Maggie Lorraine; Brennan Lorraine and two great grandchildren: Ozzy Lowe and Matilda Lowe.

Funeral services will be handled by Long and Fisher Funeral Home at 6837 Sissonville Dr, Sissonville, West Virginia 25320. There will be a viewing from 10AM to 12 noon September 22, 2026. Funeral service will be conducted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Funeral Home chapel, starting at 12:00 noon, or immediately after the viewing period. Burial will follow at the Donel C Kinnard State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 130 Academy Dr, Dunbar, West Virginia. 25064.
