Pamela J. Hackney, 52, of Sissonville took the hand of God and walked into eternity October 7, 2013 in CAMC Memorial Hospital after battling lung cancer.
Pamela was a long standing member of the Grapevine Chapel Church in Sissonville. She worked at the King''s Way Christian Education Care in Nitro.
Preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Reed Irvine; father-in-law, Clifford E. Hackney; and brother-in-law, David Atkinson.
Left to cherish her memory are loving husband, Ricky D. Hackney at home; son, Ricky D. Hackney II of Sissonville; daughter, Savanna J. Hackney and her fianc, Andrew L. Young of Sissonville; granddaughter, Kadence J. Young of Sissonville; mother, Margaret C. Irvine of Charleston; brother, Kenneth Ray Irvine and his wife, Gail, of Florida; sisters, Paula L. Craft of Kenna and Karen A. Hunt and her husband, Donald, of Michigan; mother-in-law, Mary Opal Hackney of Sissonville; brother-in-laws, Dale L. Hackney and his wife, Sandy, of Sissonville, Richard A. Hackney and his wife, Lisa, and Charles Douglas Hackney and his wife, Dean, all of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Brenda K. Atkinson of Sissonville; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the states.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 10 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Wayne Moss officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
A gathering of family and friends will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
