Mr. Orville Estel Carpenter , 89, of Sissonville, WV, passed away on November 15, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ann Carpenter; three children, Teri Lynn, Larry Wayne (Christina) and Marti Sue Carpenter; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 4 step-children, Curtis Wayne McMillion (Kimber), William Douglas McMillion, Lori Jane Barton (Danny), and Melissa Ann Allen (Robbie); 7 step grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren. Orville served his country in the Air Force and retired from the Navy in 1985. Additionally, he worked for the state of WV as the Director of the State Employment Services, retiring in 1988. After retiring from the state, Orville assisted Southern Land Corporation with several projects before finally retiring in 2021. Orville was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. The family would like to thank the many hospice angels who cared for him at his home and at Hubbard Hospice House for their compassionate care of Orville.
