Odessa M. Burdette, 84, of Charleston passed away July 25, 2011, in CAMC Memorial Hospital.
She retired from Harless Dry Cleaners.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Eddie" Burdette Sr.; a son, Jim Burdette; mother, Clara Walker; father, Dewey Shafer; sister, Anthol Newhouse; and a brother, Ivan Shaffer.
Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Mary Fuller and Margie Moss, both of Charleston, and June Garten of Blount; grandson, James Burdette III and his wife, Shawvonna; grandchildren, Crissy Garten, Greg Sample, Bobbie Jean Burdette, Allen Garten, Charles Garten and his wife, Heather, and James "JJ" Garten; great-grandchildren, Hollie, James IV and Preston Burdette, and Katie Sample; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Bill Burdette; brother, Clifford Shaffer of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 4, in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville, with Evangelist David Horn officiating.
