Norma Tignor Moffatt, 87, of Sissonville went to sing with the Angels on March 2, 2016 at Hubbard Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.

Norma was born March 28, 1928 in Sissonville and started her long journey to Heaven at the early age of 11. Norma was a Christian and a member of the Pocatalico Community Church for over 50 years. Norma started singing gospel music with her sister, Lottie, at age 15 as the Tignor Sisters, and then the Tignor Family, and later the Tignors. Norma loved singing gospel music and always testified she would continue singing until God took her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clay E. Moffatt; sister, Lottie Tignor Smith; parents, Charles Tignor and Bessie Miller Tignor; brother, John Virgil Tignor; and a son-in-law, Jack Beckner.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Joyce McFarland (Orville), and Narketta Beckner; grandsons, Wade Hampton, and Dana McFarland (Michelle); great-granddaughter, Alexis "Lexi" McFarland, who was the light of her life. Playing with Lexi is what kept Norma young. Norma will be greatly missed by her family and church family, not to mention the many churches she was able to minister to.

Service will be 1pm Sunday, March 6 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor Buddy Mairs, Randy Camp, and David Horn officiating. Entombment will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.

Friends and family may gather 7-9pm Saturday, March 5 at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and nurses at CAMC General MICU 3rd floor for their constant care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Pocatalico Community Church or Hubbard Hospice House.
