Norma Jean Hughes Dooley, 84, of Sissonville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at CAMC Hospice House after a long illness. Born May 6, 1938 in Nicholas County, Zela, WV, she was the daughter of the late Winston Asa and Pruccia Morris Hughes. Norma was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church where she loved going on the monthly senior trips to Looneyville to assemble bibles and literature. She is survived by her daughters, Jaqueline Lynn (Gary) Gibson, Pamela Jo Dooley Higginbotham, and Virginia Carol Dooley Whittington; sister, Alta Chaffin; grandsons, Jeremy Higginbotham and Evan (Meghan) Gibson; granddaughter, Kendra Whittington (Shawn) Penix; great-granddaughters, Tarah Higginbotham, Carmen Carrick and Addison Penix, and special family member, Brenda Jones. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Long and Fisher Funeral Home in Sissonville. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 20, 2023 at the funeral home, with Dr. Bill J. Bartlett, Pastor Kevan Bartlett and Dr. Gary Gibson, officiating.
