Myrtle Lura Reed, 84, of Sissonville went home to be with the Lord on March 13, 2007 at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
She was born January 22, 1923 to the late Lewis and Esta Parsons.
She was a member of Second Creek Community Church, and was retired from Kanawha County Board of Education.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford Mat Reed.
She is survived by one daughter, Ina Thaxton; sons and their spouses, Robert "Bo" and Carolyn Reed, and Randy and Kathy Reed all of Sissonville; brother, Okey Parsons of Ripley; sister, Glada Crank of Middleton, OH; grandchildren, Kelly and Randy Shamblin, Chris and Angel Reed, Sara and Greg Shaffer all of Sissonville, Miranda and Andy Wooten of St. Albans, Mikaela and Ryan Huddleston of Huntington, and Christina Reed of Sissonville; great grandchildren, Randy and Amy Shamblin, Taylor Reed, Brooke Reed, Madison Shaffer, Sammy Shaffer, and Morgan Reed all of Sissonville; great great grandchild, Haylee Shamblin of Sissonville.
The Funeral Service will be 2pm Thursday, March 15 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Rev. Bill Huddleston officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville. Friends may call 6-9pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
