Mildred King, 81, of Sissonville WV, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2018 at her home surrounded by family.   She was born September 30, 1936 in Hookersville, WV to Newman and Alice Gadd Spinks Hanna.

Mildred "Midge" retired with 30 years of service from the Federal Government.  She was a Program Analyst for the Department of the Interior and Administrator at the SSA.   She had a special nurturing way with children, animals and plants, all of whom calmed and bloomed in her presence.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Eugene D. King, son Robert King of Charleston, daughter Kathy Moore and husband Adam of Scott Depot, sister Rosalie Taylor of Summersville, brother Roland Todd Spinks and wife Rosie of Indianapolis, grandchildren Donnie Lewis and wife Stephanie, Ryan Kress, James King, Austin King, Andrea Ruby and husband Ben, Kristi McCormick and husband TJ, great-grandchildren, Lugh & Willow Lewis, Kamren & Alexis Ruby, Abby McCormick. She was "Aunt Mickey" to many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Oscar, Sherman, Wess, Wilber and Mac Spinks, and two sisters, Bernice Woods and Emma Simms.

The family wishes to express very special thanks to Dr. Justin Cohen and staff for many years of care and encouragement.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at noon at Pocatalico Community Church.

She chose to be cremated and wanted very little "fuss".

In lieu flowers, her memory can be honored by making a donation to someone in need.
