Mildred M. Garnes, 77, of Charleston passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011, at CAMC General Hospital. She attended Maranatha Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Smith and Myrtle Harper.
She is survived by her children, Monna (Lee) Given of Sissonville, Rosalind Akers of Charleston, Nancy Herbert of Texas and Stephen Harper of Charleston; brother, Jonathan (Geraldine) Harper of Cicerone; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Sunday, January 23, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev Kevin Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Harper family cemetery, Cicerone.
Friends may call Sunday one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
