Melvin Ray Hanshaw Sr., 71, of Fisher Ridge, Kenna, passed away August 13, 2012, with his loved ones by his side. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rose Hanshaw; his parents, Leonard and Mary Hanshaw; son, Ray Hanshaw; brothers, Robert and Roger Hanshaw; sister, Wanda; and granddaughter, Amanda Southall, and her unborn little angel.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Halley and husband, Robert, and Tammy Reed and husband, B.J., all of Kenna; grandson, Collin Reed; brother, Gary Hanshaw and wife, Jean, of Ohio; his companion, Carol Miller; as well as nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 17, at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev. Buddy Mairs officiating. Burial will follow in Garnes Cemetery, Kenna.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice.
