Maxine Marks-Hoffman, 76 of Charleston, entered her new life in the loving arms of her Savior on October 26, 2008, at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston following a short illness.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Rev. Melvin and Mae Hayes of Dunbar, brothers Glenn Hayes Sr. of Poca, and her husband Clinton Marks and their son Shayne Allen Marks, I.
Maxine was an accountant and was employed by AIM Communications, City Holding, and H&R Block. She was a 1949 graduate of Dunbar High School and attended Morris Harvey College in Charleston.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Chelyan from 1965 to 1981 and is a current 27 year member of North Hills Baptist Church, Pocatalico.
Maxine is survived by her son, Greg Ingram and wife Susie of Montgomery; three daughters, Jackie Washington and husband James of Hurricane, Yvonne Ferrell and husband Hollie of Conyers, GA, Patti Harrison and husband David of Sissonville, and daughter in law Amy Marks of Derricks Creek; Two brothers, Manford Hayes and his wife Reba, Dana Hayes, and his wife Pam both of Dunbar WV; Twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and Robert Hoffman of Millwood WV.
Her family is grateful to all of her friends, Pastor Mike Harper, the nurses and staff at CAMC Memorial Hospital and a very special thanks to the Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston and their caring staff.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 29, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm at the North Hills Baptist Church, Pocatalico. Funeral service will also be at the church on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 11:00 am with Pastor Mike Harper officiating.
