Mary Jo Claypool Chamberlain, 93, of Charleston, WV, passed peacefully Sunday, August 21, 2016.
Mary Jo was a loving person who greatly enjoyed life. In reflecting on her life she often said that she felt she had been truly blessed, because she had a husband who had been a good provider, a job she had enjoyed, and most of all she had enjoyed being a mother. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by family and all those whom she never turned away.
Mary Jo was a retiree of the Department of Health and Human Resources with 20 years service.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents, James Madison Claypool and Mary Wilblin; husband William B. Chamberlain; son, James; 3 sisters and twin brother.
Surviving are her sister, Suze Aldridge of Florida; sons, William B. Chamberlain, Jr. and wife Polly; Michael W. Chamberlain, David A. Chamberlain, and Richard N. Doneghy, whom she thought of as a son, all of Charleston; 5 grand children; 3 great grand children; 2 great great grand children; 2 great, great, great grand children; and 3 step grand children.
Service will be at 2:00PM, Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Long and Fisher Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Rev. Ray Williams will be officiating. Internment will be in Floral Hills Garden of Memories.
