Mariedith Vionetta Ranson Cobb of Sissonville, known by her family as "Maw", went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 30, 2007. She was eighty years young.
She was born April 29, 1927 at Dutch Creek Road, Rocky Fork. She was one of eight children and was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Anna Ranson; Brother, Howard; Sisters, Gladys, Macel, Mabel, Martha and Ruby.
Maw was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a woman of great admiration, love and strength. She loved working in her multiple flower gardens, and was a devoted Nascar fan. She was always rooting for Jeff Gordon every race.
One phrase spoken by many who knew Maw, "She was a good woman." She was truly one of God''s angels on earth and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Maw is survived by her loving husband of sixty two years, Jesse "Ray" Cobb; Children, Howard-Ray Cobb and wife Linda, Roger "Dale" Cobb and wife Donna all of Sissonville, Janice Slusher and Husband Gary of Rock Branch, Kathy Butcher and husband Scott of Sissonville, and Cindy Fullerton and husband Glenn of Woodstock, Georgia; Sister, Norma Jean Wilder of St. Albans; thirteen grandchildren, Teresa Sheets, Tammy Reese, Billie-Jo Miller, Tony Toler, Tracie Hyde, Kellie Ray, Jesse Cobb, Lori Taylor, Chelsea Fullerton, Jacob Fullerton, Zachery Fullerton, Benjamin Fullerton, and Samuel Fullerton; and fourteen great grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be 2pm Sunday, September 2nd at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with the Rev. Michael Good officiating. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville. Friends may call 5-8pm Saturday at the Funeral Home.
