Marie Attline Phillips of Sissonville born and raised on Kanawha Two Mile; went home to be with her Jesus on February 15, 2017.
She is preceded in death by her loving father, Benjamin Amos Fields; and beloved sister, Hellen J. Kidd of Charleston, whom she spoke of often and often with tears.
Marie was little country girl who loved working with her father, who was a coal miner on Rich Fork Kanawha Two Mile, whom after his passing in April 1957, missed him dearly and talked about him often with many wonderful stories about him.
In 1963 she met the love of her life Rudene Hinzman, and was married into a loving family. They owned Burdett black top, concrete, and construction companies. Her little country girl side shined. Her husband, Rudene, had her riding and operating dozers, and dump trucks. My momma was a country girl to the bone.
Rudene Hinzman was killed in June 29, 1964 in a car accident of MacCorkal Ave., the passing of her father and Rudene was a loss that never left her heart.
Marie had many other sisters and one brother and many many nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly.
My mother has had family disputes just like every family has. I''m sure but I always seen and heard my mother praying for them, she would pray and I would here her say " Lord, I haven''t seen them nor have they called me in many years, I don''t know why, but Lord, that''s between you and them. I love them and I forgive them. Please keep them safe, and bless them Lord, if for no other reason, please do it for me. Send angels to minister your work to them, for salvation and repentance. And thank you Lord, for loving me"
I heard my mother pray for people who hated her and with humbleness and with tears.
My mother, Marie Phillips, lived the Christian walk that she talked about all her life; you couldn''t be around Marie with out her talking about Jesus.
My mother, Marie Phillips is survived by one son, Paul Phillips, who misses her very dearly. Paul took care of Marie through many hospital stays, I never left her side and it was a privilege to honor you and protect you in life and now in death. Heaven now guards your precious soul.
Mom, I am so thankful to have had a mother that loved me with Christ like love, your prayers kept me out of hell. For that I am eternally grateful.
Till heaven calls and I see you again. May Jesus squeeze your hand three times for me.
Your Loving Son,
Paul Phillips
