Marie Helen Milam, 87, of Middle Fork, Kenna, departed April 27, 2010 surrounded by her family.
Marie was a retired cook for the Jackson County Schools. She was born December 28, 1922 in Clay County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Milam; son, Shelby Milam; grandchild, Jessica Carpenter; great grandchild, Carrigan Milam Shaffer; and two siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are children, Hazel Boggess of Sissonville, Gertrude "Trudie" Shamblin and her companion, George Alder, of Kenna, Sue Carpenter and her husband, Carroll, of Sissonville, Margaret Haynes of Kentuck, Freddie Milam and his wife, Libby, of Kenna, Linda Jones and her husband, Roger, of Sissonville and Jeannie Smith and her husband, Bill, of Ripley; sister, Elizabeth Teel of Alabama; 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; as well as other family members and friends.
Marie will be greatly missed by everyone and will be forever in our hearts.
The Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 30 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Pastor David Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the Milam-Thomas Cemetery, Fisher''s Ridge, Kenna.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6-8 p.m Thursday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary''s Hospital IMUCS and 5th floor Neurology for their wonderful care of Marie.
