Obituary

Luther Parker Curtis, 80, of Charleston passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Huntington, he was the son of the late Luther and Nell Curtis. Parker was a graduate of Charleston High School and was a top ranking player on the basketball team. He served our country during peacetime in the US Army as military police. After his honorable discharge; Parker served on the Charleston Police Department for a few years before working for FMC and selling insurance for American General Life Insurance Company. He was an avid WVU fan.

On October 1, 1960, Parker married the love of his life, Jane Allen Keener. They enjoyed being with their family and traveling to sporting events to support their grandchildren. Fall fisher trips to the Outer Banks of North Carolina was a yearly event.

In addition to Parker''s parents and wife; he is preceded in death by his brothers, James Curtis and Stephen Wade.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Amy Zimmerman (Randy) and Beth Fisher (Mark); grandchildren, Dylan Adkins ( Jessica Martin), Andrew Dawson (Ashley), and Courtney Dawson (Ryan); great grandchildren, Lex Rowsey, and Isla Dawson.

Funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Long & Fisher Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will immediately follow at Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens.
