Obituary

Lola Opal Rhodes, 79, of Sissonville went to be with the Lord December 14, 2008 in CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Lola had worked as a nurse for Statts Hospital, and was a Silver Haired legislator and facilitator. She was on the board of directors for the Kanawha Valley Senior Services, and the Sissonville Library. She was a member of the Sissonville Woman''s Club, and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. Lola was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family on her farm in Roane county. She also enjoyed clogging at the Elkview Community Center.
Preceded in death by: parents, Romie and Sylvia Parsons; Husband, Esten Rhodes; son-in-law, Chuck Ramella; and brother, James Parsons.
Survived by: daughter, Shirley Ramella of Sissonville; grandson and his wife, Ken and Sue Ramella of Sissonville; great grandchildren, Alicia Ramella, and Kenny Ramella both of Sissonville; step great grandchildren, Kalob and Joshua Westfall of Sissonville; and numerous extended family members, and friends.
The Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville with Reverend Bill Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in Hunt Cemetery, Roane County.
A gathering of friends and family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
