Obituary

Lock Edward (Buddy) Haynes, 83, of Charleston, passed away at home on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 after a long illness.  Buddy was the son of the late Johnny and Esta Haynes.  He was a life long resident of Charleston.  Buddy was a Dental Tech from the age of 18, and worked for Midtown, Tinchers Dental Lab, he also owned his own business for many years.

He loved to ride motorcycles with his friends, fish with his son Ronald and his grandkids, hunt, bowl with his late wife Loretta Faye (Sis) Haynes, his three daughters, Kathy, Oreta, and Lori, and traveled to many bowling tournaments with them.  Buddy also loved to go out gambling with his daughter Oreta any chance they got.  He traveled to Vegas with his wife, daughters and his brother-in-law many times.  Traveling was Buddy's favorite thing to do, he went to Pigeon Forge with his wife and daughter Lori many times.  He made sure he took all his grandchildren to Pigeon Forge and Dollywood, he loved watching them enjoy these trips, he did this until he couldn't drive anymore.  Buddy also loved taking cruises with his family seeing the world and he loved the food.  He never met a stranger and was loved by all who knew him.

Those left behind to cherish these many memories are his children, Rodney A. Haynes, Kathy L. Whiting (Donald), Oreta M. Cunningham (James), Ronald E. Haynes (Kelly) all of Charleston; and Lori K. Deuereux (Mike) of St. Albans; his brother John (Buck) Haynes and sister Marlena (Susie) Parker (Don).

Buddy had 22 Grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who also will cherish the many memories they have and will always love and miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his brothers; Orville "Boney" Haynes, Owen Keith Haynes, and William "Charlie" Haynes; sisters, Joann Waldorph, and Daisy Mae Gamber.

Services will be held on Sunday February 23, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Long & Fisher Funeral Home.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service with Pastor Travis Jordan officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in the Mausoleum at Floral Hills Garden of  Memories.

We the children of Buddy would like to send a special thank you to Lisa Rhodes who took excellent care of our daddy and he loved her very much.  Also a special thank you to Loretta Pauley for singing for our daddy. Hospice care for coming and helping with him.
