Kenneth Lee Strickland, 64, of Tuppers Creek, went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2013, at home with his loved ones by his side after a long illness.
He was born June 10, 1949, to the late Denzil and Mary (Spencer) Strickland. He was preceded in death by his brother, William "Bill" Strickland, and nephew, Nathan Bryan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Beverly (Newhouse) Strickland; son, Kenneth "Lee" Strickland II of King, N.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Jose Ramirez of Tuppers Creek; grandkids, Rudy and Kaitlyn Strickland-Ramirez; brothers, Samuel Strickland of Legg Fork, Robert and Sissy Strickland of King, N.C., and Timothy and Sarah Strickland of King, N.C.; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ashraft for all of the care he gave to Kenny during his illness. A special thank you to Shelly Bryan for all of the help, love and support she gave to Kenny and the family.

The children would like to thank their mother for taking such good, loving care of their dad through his illness.

Rest in peace, Daddy! We will always love you. Gone on but never to be forgotten until we meet again.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 10, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with Pastor Harold Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in Sissonville Memorial Gardens.
