Obituary

Kendra Olivia Saunders went to rest on June 16, 2015 after 25 years of a beautiful existence.

Kendra brought joy and love to everyone who had the honor of knowing her. She was courageous and her fighting spirit was a constant reminder to find the silver lining in all of life''s obstacles. She loved to laugh and have fun, and never complained even in the tough times.

Even though Kendra''s life was affected by physical limitations, she was a proud graduate of the Sissonville High School Class of 2009 and was employed for a short time by the Kanawha County Sheriff''s Tax Department.

Kendra is survived by her loving and devoted parents, Pete and Debbie Saunders of Sissonville. She had two sisters who loved her like their own daughter, Terri (Dwayne) Roberts and LaRae Linville. She leaves behind nephews Nick Buckalew, Jacob Roberts, and Levi Roberts, nieces Sydney Linville and Emily Roberts, all of Elkview, and great niece, Adalyn Walker of Parkersburg.

She is also survived by a very special uncle, Larry Ross of Leon, whom she considered a second Dad, a friend, and a teacher. Her other uncles include Mike (Carole) Saunders of Glen, Gwynn Ross of Ripley, Richard (Barbara) Ross of Chesapeake, Raymond Ross of Kentucky, Bill (Wanda) Ross of Amma, and David (Sharon) Ross of Elkview.

Kendra leaves behind a special aunt, Rondia Smith of Cross Lanes, who helped Kendra develop her high maintenance personality and other traits that made her so special. Left to mourn their loss are her other aunts, Barbara Pritt (Florida), Dottie (Carroll) Lynch of Charleston, Kay Truman of Ripley, and Becky (Joe) Crockett of Eleanor.

Also left to remember Kendra''s outspoken nature and sweet spirit are numerous cousins and close friends with whom she created so many special memories.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all of the doctors and nurses at CAMC and UPMC in Pittsburgh who cared for Kendra for many years. A special thanks to neighbors Ann and Jim Adkins, and Jana and "Woody" Wood for all the love shown throughout Kendra''s life.

Kendra''s beloved dog, Pedro, and cat, Bitzi, will surely miss their "Mommy".

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Long and Fisher Funeral Home in Sissonville. The service will take place at 6:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Buddy Mairs. A private entombment will follow at Long and Fisher.
